What is a Collective?

A Collective is a church where everyone is invited to play their part as we worship creatively, love generously, and serve locally.

Church Collective is a network of Collectives meeting in different locations across Warrington and online.

  • What is a Collective?

We want to invite you to come and be a part of a Collective, a group of people who meet each week to worship creatively, love generously and serve locally.

Each Collective will inhabit these values in different ways depending on the context and the people within the Collective, but when a Collective gathers, they will worship God in creative ways, being thankful to Him for who He is and what He has done. We will also pray together and study the Bible together.

Each Collective, or in another language, a Micro Church, will be a community together, encouraging one another and being generous towards one another. Our final focus in every Collective is to go out into our local neighbourhoods and communities and serve in whatever way the Holy Spirit guides us to depending on the needs that are there.

There are loads of different Collectives at Church Collective so I would love it if you check out our website churchcollective.uk/find to find out more. When you go on the websites and you see the list of Collectives that are already there and if your heart doesn't sing for any of them, I would encourage you to come and speak to me about starting your own Collective in an area that we don't currently have one, or within a demographic that we're not currently serving.

We want to resource you as you play your part in worshipping creatively, loving generously, and serving locally.

FAQs

  • A microchurch is an intentionally small church community that will plant more microchurches when it reaches a certain number. At Church Collective we say that number is around 50 people.

  • A Collective is our name for a microchurch. At each Collective, ‘we invite everyone to play their part as we worship creatively, love generously and serve locally.’

  • Exactly right! Each Collective is a church in her own right, held together within the network of Church Collective. Each Collective is different, but they are all expressions of church that won’t necessarily look like what you have experienced before on a Sunday morning.

  • A Collective is a Jesus-centred church community. Each Collective will worship in creative ways, read the Bible together and pray together. A Collective is often described as a family community, so we often have social time together. Most collectives will eat together, and at different times in the year go out to serve the local community. Check out churchcollective.uk/find

  • Each collective has a particular flavour. Some are general, some family-focused, others are specifically for youth or kids and some are based around a social action. For more information check out churchcollective.uk/find

  • Anyone and everyone! Whether you are a baby in arms or retired, everyone is welcome.

  • We have a ‘Collective Gathering’ every 1st Sunday of the month at 6 pm. This is a time to come and worship God, have teachings from the Bible and be commissioned back out into your Collective.

We don’t have a weekly Sunday service, as we would say that your Collective (whenever that meets in the week) is your weekly church community.

The Collective Gatherings are an extra time of equipping and encouragement.

  • Church Collective is open to anyone, whether you would say you are a Christian or not. Most people who come to a Collective either want to explore the Christian faith or be part of a church community. But anyone is welcome to come and join in.

  • Wonderful! Come along to a Collective and share with the leader where you are on your journey of faith.

Also, check out our next Alpha course which explores the basics of the Christian faith.

  • We would encourage you to go along to a Collective and see whether it is a church you would like to play your part in.

  • Amazing! Come and get plugged into Church Collective, and Rev. Simon and the team can meet with you and see what God is calling you to do.

If God is calling you to plant a Collective we have training programs, support, resources and accountability to help you and a team of people plant a new microchurch.
