Online Collective

We are a scattered community that connects digitally throughout the week.

What do we do at Online Collective?

We have made our video courses available for you to watch in your Collective, or at home as part of your discipleship journey.

We host Alpha+ to continue the conversation after each episode of the Alpha Course, and we invite you to read the Bible with other people. Take a look at the drop down menu for links.

  • We’ve created a series of video courses for you to use in your Collective or at home as part of your discipleship journey;

This is Us is a course exploring the values of Church Collective: We invite everyone to play their part as we worship creatively, love generously and serve locally.

Proximity is a series of conversations about discipleship and following Jesus closely.

Everyday Acts explores the book of Acts in the Bible, with a focus on what we can learn from the people who were part of the early church.

I Am Who I Say I Am explores the 7 I Am statements of Jesus from the book of John in the Bible.

We have also created resources for Lent, Easter and Christmas, and curated a list of books and apps for Families on Mission as they follow Jesus together.

  • Church Collective are running Alpha at Howley Collective and Smile Collective.

Alpha+ is an opportunity for extra time to talk.

Mondays, 8 pm on Zoom with Mark and Sarah

  • We invite you to read the Bible with other people by joining a Bible reading plan or a 3mph group.

    Bible Reading Plans
It can be really helpful to read the Bible with other people. That’s why we recommend joining a reading plan. See what plans other people at Church Collective are reading at churchcollective.uk/bible

    3mph Groups
Reading big chunks of the Bible can be challenging for lots of reasons. So we’ve devised an achievable way to read the Bible over time with other people. 3mph is a WhatsApp group for 3-5 people who read the Bible slowly, just three verses each day, Monday to Friday. 3mph is a space to comment and ask questions about things you’re unsure about.

Join a 3mph using the button below.

  • • Who would be in my group?

Anyone of the same gender who has signed up. You might not know them, but actually, this doesn't matter. Everyone will be at a different stage in their journey with God and we all have things to learn from each other. You will have one thing in common though, a desire to read a bit more of the Bible.

    • What if I don't know what to say?

There will be some suggested questions in the notes of the WhatsApp group that you can think through, like 'What stands out to you?', 'What does this tell us about people?', 'What does this tell us about Jesus?', and 'What might I do differently?'

Thinking about these things yourself might help you think of something to answer, or you could ask what something means. It doesn't have to be profound!

What if I miss a day?

That's OK! This is guilt-free Bible reading! Either catch up another day or just skip them out and pick up where everyone else is up to.

    • Can I invite my friends to join in too?

Yes! This is a great way to practise reading the Bible and discussing it. We think 3-5 people is the best size so that everyone feels able to contribute, without the pressure never to miss a day, but also misses you if you don't join for a long time. So if you invite some friends and you become a 6, we would suggest splitting into 2 groups of 3.

Will there be someone from Online Collective in my group?

Initially yes, to help you get going. In time, if the group is running well, we might step out to help launch other 3mph groups, and allow the group to continue to be self-sufficient.

    • What if I disagree with something someone says when they comment?

This can be a good thing! The Bible was meant to be debated and questioned, so we would encourage a conversation, built on kindness, to respectfully disagree and explain your differing view.

You might agree to disagree in the end, but you can continue in your 3mph group together.

If there was unkind, bullying or worrying behaviour, and there were no Online Collective leaders in the group still, we would always want to be informed, however long after the launch of the 3mph group.

You can reach us at online@churchcollective.uk

    • Can I leave the WhatsApp group?

Of course. You can leave any time. You can ask to rejoin any time, although you may not be put back in the same 3mph group again. You might choose to leave for lots of positive reasons, but if there are negative reasons, please make sure you let us know these.

We invite everyone to play their part as we worship creatively, love generously and serve locally.
